Terms of Use
You may use the calculators and templates free of charge on your own projects. Please read in particular what the results are and what they are not.

What the tools are
The calculators and templates are aids for planning, record keeping and checking. Their results are calculations from your inputs and, where the page says so, estimates. They do not replace your contract, the regulations that apply to your project or the supervising engineer, and they are not engineering, legal, tax or commercial advice.
Your responsibility
Check every result against your contract, the applicable rules and the drawings before you rely on it. Example values, such as daywork additions, retention rates, the share of retention released or mixer and truck capacities, must be replaced with the figures that apply to you. Reference values such as bag yields and soil factors are averages or manufacturers' figures, not measurements of your materials.
Templates
You may use, copy and adapt the blank templates for your own projects and your company's work. Please do not republish them as a download of your own. The templates are our own work; they are not copies of JCT, NEC, FIDIC, AIA, RICS or VOB forms and do not reproduce text from standards.
Liability
We prepare the formulas and reference values with care and check them against the sources named on each page, but we cannot rule out errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from the use of the calculators, the templates or the guides, in particular for decisions on orders, payments, claims or safety taken on the basis of a result. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Availability and changes
The site is provided as is. We may change, extend or remove tools, correct values and update these terms. These terms were last revised on 25 Oct 2026.
Independence
CivilManual is independent and does not link to sellers, contractors or affiliate offers. Names of products, standards and contract forms are used only to identify them.
